The Irish Local Development Network representing Ireland’s 49 Local Development Companies (LDC) have welcomed the announcement of €27.8 million for the Midlands Just Transition Programme and the involvement of its members company Offaly Local Development Company in the programme.

“Almost €2 million of the Just Transition Funding being announced by Government has been allocated to projects where Offaly Local Development Company play a central role.  Local Development Companies in our Network are working across the Country through SICAP (Social Inclusion Community Activation Programme), LEADER and other programmes in assisting communities to make the transition to environmental and economic sustainability and strategically we see a critical role for our members in this endeavour into the future.

“Offaly Local Development Company are working incredibly hard in the Community, assisting in the creation of a green sustainable economy in the midlands. As active participants in delivering Just Transition projects and in the Birr 20:20 vision project, Offaly Local Development Company are key stakeholders in ensuring that the region will become an attractive and sustainable place to live and work.”
