The Irish Local Development Network (ILDN) have advised people of all ages to avail of their Local Development Company’s (LDC) ‘Keep Well’ Campaign supports that are helping people and communities to mind their physical and mental health over the coming months as part of the Government plan for Living with COVID-19 which progresses through Level 5 restrictions.
The Government’s ‘Keep Well’ Campaign is focused on five main themes, including ‘Keeping Active’. ILDN member LDC’s are offering programmes which fall under this category across the Country through their many programmes including the ‘Social Inclusion Community Activation Programme (SICAP).
From online fitness classes and yoga, to details of local walking trails developed with the assistance of LEADER, LDC’s are offering a wide range of ‘Keep Active’ measures throughout Level 5 restrictions. Many LDC’s are also offering ‘Social Prescribing’. Social Prescribing is a mechanism for linking people with non-medical sources of support within the community to improve physical, emotional and mental wellbeing and is proving very successful for participants who have availed of the programme.
