Fourteen Local Development Companies are currently working in partnership with the Department of Health and HSE to deliver a multi-year pilot of the Sláintecare Healthy Communities (SHC) programme, which is aimed at tackling healthcare inequalities across Ireland.
ILDN recently undertook a measurement exercise to gauge the national impact of the SHC services that are delivered by these LDCs - see a summary of the results in the infographic below.
Numerous other LDCs are delivering similar services outside the scope of SCP, and their impact is not captured here. If you, or someone you know, would benefit from these supports, contact your nearest LDC to see if they are provided in your area. All supports are provided free of charge.
