Monaghan Integrated Development (MID) is proud to announce the launch of the ‘MN Training’ APP; a unique new resource available to the people of Co Monaghan. It contains details on all the training courses currently available from the main service providers in the county, including Solas, the Education and Training Board, National Learning Network, Castleblayney Training Centre, and MID.
The APP is free to download and is primarily aimed at those not in employment or training. It is easy and simple to use and will assist people to find a training course that will help their employability.
MID CEO, Gabriel O’Connell said: “This APP pulls together all information on courses for young people, lifelong learning and upskilling opportunities in an easily accessible place. I am not aware of a similar APP being available elsewhere in the country, so this could be a first.”
However, he added that the project would be easy for other counties to replicate. He acknowledged the cooperation of all the agencies and local providers in helping make this resource happen.
Welcoming the APP launch, MID Chair Seamus Coyle, stated that some rural areas have poor internet access and having this information available on mobile smartphones which have greater coverage is very important for rural communities. The fact that the APP also includes local contact details for a range of support services including, the Department of Social Protection, SUSI, the Local Employment Service, the Adult Guidance Service and the Citizens Information Service makes it extremely useful to everyone in the county.
The APP can be downloaded by entering ‘MN Training’ into your APP search. There is also a video here showing how to use the APP.
Those wishing to advertise a County Monaghan based course or service on the APP can contact Gerard Callan on 042 9795731.
